Taeniolethrinops sp."furcicauda ntekete" is a cichlid which is mainly living in sandy environments on depths of about 15 meter. They can be found along the southeastern coast of the lake in the neighbourhood of Ntekete. They are bearing recemblance to Taeniolethrinops furcicauda but they have bigger eyes and a shorter nose. In the lake the males of these species can grow to 20 cm, females grow to about 16 cm. Taeniolethrinops sp."furcicauda ntekete" is mainly feeding itself with grubs of insects which they jigg out of the sand. You can best keep this species with multiple females in a large tank with a lot of swimming space. It`s a quiet, peaceful cichlid which can be hold best with other quiet species from equal environments, mbunas are generally too aggresive. In the aquarium they are comfortable with any food. They take everything they get offered, like spirulina pellets, mysis, artemia, cyclops and shrimp-peas mix. |
